General Information.
Appointments
All the doctors and nurses are available for consultation by appointment, at both our surgery sites. Please see the Surgery timetable for details of availability. Appointments may be made either in person or by telephoning the relevant surgery:
King Street Surgery 01432 272181
Bobblestock Surgery 01432 354573
Approximately 60% of our appointments are bookable in advance and released on a rolling basis. 40% are bookable on the day.
A significant number of appointments are lost each day through patients not attending and in general, these are appointments booked in advance Please help us to help you by giving us reasonable notice if you are unable to attend.
We now offer a number of pre-bookable appointments between 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. on Fridays and on one Saturday per month between 8.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. especially for patients who are unable to attend during normal working hours.
Emergency Appointments
We aim to accommodate all requests for emergency consultations as soon as possible. Where emergency appointments or visits are requested, we cannot guarantee that a specific Doctor will be available. The duty doctor holds an emergency surgery between 12.00 pm and 1.00pm, bookable on the day only. This surgery is intended for our patients with single, simple, urgent problems and is not suitable for complex or multiple problems.
Home Visits
Except in emergency, we ask that all requests for home visits are made before 11.00am. This helps the doctors to plan their visits and often results in a speedier response to your request. Home visits are time-consuming and reduce our ability to offer sufficient appointments. We would ask that such requests are therefore made only by patients who are too ill or infirm to attend surgery and we reserve the right to offer a consultation at the surgery where this is deemed more appropriate.
Telephone advice
Our doctors and nurses are happy to answer queries by telephone. Please ask the receptionist for a telephone consultation and a mutually convenient time will be arranged. To avoid interrupting another patient's consultation it may not always be possible to connect you immediately with the Doctor or Nurse. There is however a Doctor on emergency duty who is available for telephone advice between 8.30 - 10.00 a.m every day.
